Out with the old...

Yesterday, I sold my beloved Galant. I am bittersweet about it right now, but it does make me very sad to think about never seeing my car again. I am excited about my new car that I'll be getting in a few weeks, but until I get it, I will probably continue to mourne my loss...

My parent's bought me my 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse for my 16th birthday. They spent a couple thousand on it, but no more, thinking it was only a matter of time before I wrecked it. I am a good driver and haven't been in an accident to this day, but, my Eclipse met the end of it's life when the timing belt broke and thus caused a chain reaction of other events that it could never recover from.

So, I sucked it up, got a job,
and my parent's cosigned on my Galant for me. I believe in the 5 years I spent paying her off, I only had my parent's pay for one payment, so, that car really felt like mine (my dad disagrees and kindly gave me the passenger door handle when I paid it off in June.) I really felt like I worked long and hard for that car. It never gave me problems (other than the paint job), and I was very satisfied with my five years with it. We went a lot of places together, and had a lot of memories. I drove all over Colorado in that car, all over Arizona, two trips to California, and through Dallas and Ft. Worth, Texas. We've been on the border to Mexico several times. We did many loops around the 101 in Arizona when I was struggling with my emotions...Chase spent many of those loops on the phone with me. I brought my kitty Turbo home in that car, Miley home in that car. (Hunter came home in Chase's Audi, which I never got the chance to get attached to.)

All in all, it's been a wonderful 5 years, and this post is just so I can say my goodbyes. I will miss you, Galant!

And now, on to the new...I'm very excited to bring home my Hyundai Santa Fe here in a couple of weeks. I really need a SUV with my growing family. I hate not being abe to take my doggies places (at least, comfortably), and, want a car that will continue growing with us when we have our second child. I will post pictures of my new ride once we buy it!!
