Lol

So Chase was complaining about heart burn and saying he wanted some Pepto Bismol and he was saying how he thought "Bismol" meant the end of the world and I said "No, that's Obama."

Hahahahahahah, I'm hilarious.

Ok, not really, but Chase and I got a good chuckle.

Could you repeat yourself? You couldn't possibly want me to cook for 60 people...

Quick update before I go settle in and watch me some OTH and The Hills.

Job Interview #1 today went very well. I'm fairly confident she will extend the position to me, and I am fairly confident I will accept. It's a nanny position on Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings to a 2.5 year old little boy named Henry. He has great toys, and lives in a great neighborhood, and I think him, Hunter and I would have great fun together! And they are willing to pay me quite a bit, including a Christmas bonus when I won't be working over the holidays.

Job Interview #2 today is where my subject line comes from. The interview was for a night/weekend job for an apartment community in Highlands Ranch looking for an event planner. Easy work right? Not when they want you to personally cook for 40-60 people every weekend...my reaction was essentially "you want me to do what now???" I couldn't believe it. Crazy people. I'm not a chef...I can plan an event...I can PLAN an event, like your ad asked for...but I'm certainly not cooking for one every weekend by myself. Crazy people.

Keep your fingers crossed again on Wednesday morning as I have the interview for the position I REALLY want to accept (on top of the nannying). It will require me to do some schooling, and I'm actually sort of excited about that prospect, and in the end I will be able to work my own hours, and from home if I choose too.

My fingers are crossed...are yours?

Let's Go Rockies, Let's Go!

I guess I have a lot to blog about, but not a ton of time...

Friday night we went to the Rockies game with my Mom and Dad. Chase's dad was nice enough to get us awesome front row tickets, and we had a blast! It was so much fun...

It was a great game, followed by an even better fireworks show, and an extremely croweded lightrail ride home!

I guess pictures are better than words, so here's a few from the game, and a video of part of the end of the fireworks show.

Hunter and I love to bake cookies almost as much as we love to eat them! Here we are making our new favorite oatmeal chocolate chunk cookies! Daddy just happened to be home to capture it!

Lol, Hunter has a good friend named Jillian. Here is a cute video of the two of them showing their love...

I have five job interviews this week. Wish me luck on Monday morning and Wednesday morning, as those are the two I want to accept. :) More details to come if I get them....

Weekend Heart Attacks

ZoMyGosh!

I have anxiety problems when it comes to watching sports. I realized this when I was the managaer for my high school varsity basketball team. If it was a close game, during the last 5 minutes or so, I'd start freaking out. My heart would race, I would start shaking, I felt like I couldn't breathe, etc. This problem very much continues when it comes to Bronco games. And last night was probably the worst.

What in the world kind of game was that? Just so I don't forget...here's what led to the Broncos very lucky 39-38 victory over the chargers.

1. A "fumble" by the Chargers, picked up by the Broncos, and later ran for a touchdown. The play was challenged...everyone watching on TV could see that it was not a fumble -- the play would be overruled. But...the reviewing system wasn't working, so, they couldn't review the play, so Denver kept the ball...and did I mention that Denver took it back for a  touchdown?

2. The Broncos dropped a 31-17 lead at half-time until the score was 38-31 Chargers. With 30 seconds or so left, the Broncos were 2 yards from the goal line...Cutler drops back, goes to throw the ball, and it flies out of his hand before he can even move his arm forward in the throwing motion. The Chargers recover. The play is sent under review and the Broncos get the ball back at the 10. Why? Because the ref blew his whistle when the ball flew out ending the play. Why? Nobody knows for sure.

3. Cutler throws a touchdown to Eddie Royal. If they kick a field goal, the game will be tied and go into overtime. Wooo!

4. They go for two. The same EXACT play to  Royal results in putting Denver up 39-38 with 20 seconds on the clock.

5. The Chargers get the ball back. Two or three VERY scary plays later, the game is over.

Duing steps 2-5 my heart had literally stopped. I think I died for that short period of time with only adrenaline keeping me going. Had the Broncos not stumbled upon some act of fate, I might have had more than just a heart attack....

Okay, on to Saturday night and my new found hatred for bees...

Every night after dinner, we take the dogs outside, and Hunter and we play outside for a bit.  The dogs went #2, so I was picking it up, and Chase said something about a bee on Jetta, who was standing near me. Well, I lifted my head and in the process got poop all over my hand! Well it doesn’t end there… As soon as Chase said that, I could feel my head STINGING with the worst pain…I ran towards Chase saying “theres one in my hair, there’s one in my hair” and Chase says “it looks fine.” Well, my head is KILLING me, so I yell to Chase to get Hunter inside, and I ran inside into our bathroom. I stuck my hand under the water and bent my head down and I could see a bee in my hair! So I was trying to get it out and then there was another one! And then I could feel one on my neck! By that time, Chase brought Hunter inside and had set him down and was back outside trying to get the dogs…and I now have 3 bees flying around, so I grab Hunter, and still like half screaming/half sobbing I ran out the front. Hunter’s crying because I’m crying and I’m still convinced I have bees on me and am freaking out! I can literally feel them ALL over, but I couldn’t find them…Finally, Chase got the dogs in, and he comes out front and tells me he doesn’t see any, and to take the dogs and Hunter upstairs and get in the shower and he’ll kill the ones inside. So I run upstairs, hop in the shower, with Hunter (which we’ve never done before) and Hunter’s freaking out because he’s used to baths and not water spraying everywhere, and I am freaking out because I’m still convinced I have bees all over me even though I’m naked and I can see that I don’t.

Luckily, LUCKILY, LUCKILY, Hunter never got stung. Jetta ended up with probably 20 stings, and Miley maybe 5 or so.

Ugh. So Chase killed 4 or 5 that made it into the house, got Hunter out of the shower and put him to bed, and finally I got out too. I can feel 3 stings on my head and one on my neck. It’s terrible. They don’t hurt now, but for a few hours Saturday night, I was in some major pain.

So now,I hate bees.

today is not my day.

this is what i think today -

*i'm sad it's 9-11. i'm not going to dwell on it though.
*i hate being sick. mostly, i just hate being stuffy and sleepy.
*i hate nanny agencies. cut out the middle man, and care enough about your kid to interview your nanny yourself. why should they care what activities i would plan for a 12 year old when you have a 10 month old? no, i will not stay with your family for 12 years. sorry.
*not having water is detrimental to my house. the laundry is piled up. the dishes are piled up. and i can't even flush the toilet -- on the positive side, we have three unflushable toilets
*not having my parking spot sucks.
*david's bridal's shades of green are terrible. i hate them. i hate green.

that is all. for today.

Laborless days

"it was labor day weekend, i was seventeen. i bought a coke and some gasoline and i drove out to the county fair. when i saw her for the first time, she was standing there in the ticket line, and it all started right then and there. " there's some good ole tim mcgraw for your enjoyment!

so this labor day, we went down the pueblo with al, brandi, kim, adam and peyton. chase and i chose to leave hunter, jetta and miley with grandma and grandpa while we enjoyed a relaxing weekend to ourselves. the weather was great, although the water was a bit chilly. i think we all had fun.
- this jet ski goes a little too fast for me. why someone would want to go 69MPH on the water is beyond me, but i think chase does it just to make me scream.
al and brandi - maybe brandi will kill me for putting this picture in here :)

chase and i hanging out at the front of the boat.

here is kimber water skiing for the first time in a few years...
here is kimber falling :)

peyton rarely gives me a smile when i have my camera out..

chase pushing me off the boat while al snapped the picture. evidently, this was planned -- not very nice!
chase and i jumping off the top of al's boat. i did this just to get this picture. haha.

chase and i enjoying the cold water. this lasted for approximately long enough to take this picture before we climbed back into the boat.

jumping the wake on the jet ski. take note of how tight i am holding on...
before the trip, hunter and i made some yummy oatmeal chocolate chunk cookies -- hunter loved them!

awww, here's my little man in his tux for kim and adam's wedding! doesn't he look too cute?

so, that's how our life has been going lately! i also started another blog the other night. this one is just a place for me to write about the books i read, and what they make me think about. check it out here:
