Boogers -- more specifically, one booger in particular

What a wonderfully busy week it has been! Saturday was Janet's birthday, so we went with her, Kim, Karen, Ryan, Charlotte and Peyton to the museum! Hunter was a booger, but, that didn't stop him from taking some cute pictures! We got to the museum early (we're always early...) so we took some photos on the wolves outside. Hunter was avoiding the camera at all costs...

Finally he took a good one with Daddy...too bad Daddy wasn't looking..

Once inside, Hunter loved playing on the piano...

He also looked so cute letting older cousin Peyton lead him around the dinosaurs...

Booger or not, it has been decided that Hunter is too cute for his own good.

While the early week was spent running errands and cleaning, we took a much needed break today to meet Amy, Christian and Luke at our favorite park!

First, we tried the twirly slide backwards AND on our belly! What a great, new concept...
Then, it was off to the horses for some good riding fun...

Hunter and Luke stopped playing long enough to take a cute picture together...Christian was too busy doing "big boy" things...

We even found a water feature at the park that we have not seen before! We didn't have our swim trunks, but that didn't stop Hunter from having a lot of fun! This picture was great because Hunter wasn't so sure about the spraying water...well, it turned off for a minute, so he went over to investigate the hole it comes out of, and it turned back on! He was caught off guard wetter than he anticipated getting...

After an hour of playing, he was SO exhausted that not even Mommy's singing and silly voices could keep him awake. He fell asleep about 30 seconds away from our house...

Nonetheless, it's been a busy week, getting busier as we speak. I am just about done with my editing of wedding pictures, and am actually thankful I don't have any more weddings. It's a lot more stress than I would have thought, and editing takes quite some time. I think from now on, I have the examples and references to charge a bit more for weddings, but not the equipment yet to charge outrageously. We'll see where it gets us -- hopefully new equipment will come before too long!

The party preparations are coming together nicely, although I am a bit worried about the parking situation! Oh well!

Mom and Dad surprised Chase and I with a new grill! We were going to borrow their two portable ones for our party, but they decided to go ahead and give us our house warming gift early...so nice of them! We are planning on trying it out tonight -- Chase will become a grill master before he knows it! Lots of BBQ's to come!!!!

Miley ate our wall. I'm pretty mad at her, so right now she's locked away in her kennel. I guess it could be worse, but...ugh. Puppies. Who's bright idea was it that we got her??? Thanks Mom. Maybe I will grill her on our new bbq's rotisserie? Jusstt kidding.

BTW, Happy Birthday to Janet on July 26th, and Happy 8th Birthday to Dylan and Dalton on the 29th!

Punk kids

I think I knew from 2:00PM when Hunter got up from his nap that we weren't going to have a good night! We had plans for dinner with Al and Brandi at 6:00, which is about Hunter's time to start getting grumpy. So, I guess we shouldn't expect any less than for Holly to be right ;). Hunter was definitely a grump at dinner -- he didn't let Opa hold him, and was only impressed by Oma because she let him see her camera, which he for some reason knew exactly what to do with! Oh well -- we left the restaurant with every intention of going home, putting Hunter to bed, and having a nice quiet evening on the couch. We had a minor delay.

We were at Parker and Orchard when some punk kid didn't pay attention to the fact we (and everyone surrounding us) were braking. He tapped us once, and honestly, I didn't even know! I thought my car had stalled or something...well, we kinda jumped and Chase hit the brakes (purposefully) and he hit us again a bit harder. That time I knew we were hit! So, we got out of traffic and Chase went to survey the damage and get the information while I called Progressive (thanks Kim for the number!!!). It was really no big deal -- the damage was a lot less than I envisioned it to be during the 15 minutes I sat in the car avoiding looking at my rear bumper. It's just a little scratched, no biggie, but it will be fixed! And maybe I'll get a cool rental?

The poor kid was 18, just got his license and car -- still had a temp. tag on the car. I don't feel bad for him, cuz obviously he wasn't paying attention, but...yea. His insurance rates are going to skyrocket, and for that I feel a little bad. TINY bit. Okay, no, not really...his fault. Stupid punk.

In other news, Hunter has not had a fever since Wednesday, but he's a punk kid too! :)

Poor Hunter!

I feel so bad for Hunter! He woke up several times on Saturday night, as warm as ever! His fever continued into Sunday staying between
100° and 102.° This morning, he stayed in bed until 9:30, and wasn't too warm when he woke up, so we made the trip down to Oma's house to take care of some things. Hunter was pretty grumpy on the way home, so we got home and made some lunch -- Hunter loves food! Well, he ate one bite and wanted down. When I picked him up, I noticed he was scorching hot -- really burning up. We sat in front of the air conditioner for a few minutes before I figured I better take his temp! Poor kiddo was 103.3°. I decided at that point that a doctor's visit was in order, so after a quick nap, we met Grandma at the doctors. His temp had gone down to 100.7° by the time we got there, and they couldn't find anything wrong with him. I was told just to keep an eye on him.

Hunter came home exhausted and took a nap on the couch while Daddy played video games and Mommy cooked dinner. After a quick dinner of blueberries, we were back to the couch where we took his temp again...it was back up to 103.2°.

I feel so bad for the poor little guy, and there's not much I can do for him other than watch him and hold him. He just wants to cuddle and sleep. He's in bed now for the time being...we are so thankful to Grantie, Grandma, and Papa for supplying the air conditioner for his bedroom - otherwise, it would have been way to hot to put him in there!!!

Send well wishes Hunter's way -- he could sure use them!

Boys!

Today...Hunter, with the supervision and encouragement of Chase, turned the living room in an amusement park!

We spent the first part of this afternoon on the couch, watching Cars (Hunter's new favorite movie!). Hunter woke up from his nap with a 102 degree fever, and grumpies all around! He was not a happy camper, and was definitely not his smiley self! Cuddling on the couch with Daddy and Jetta was about all he wanted to do...

Miley entertained herself by lying on the coffee table...

After the ibuprofen kicked in, Hunter finally felt better...in fact, he felt so good, he decided to turn the coffee table/couch into a slide! First, he climbed up onto the coffee table and sat down! Then, Daddy grabbed his legs and got ready to pull...

After Hunter sucked in his breath and held it, Daddy pulled, and Hunter flew...

After landing, Hunter noticed the camera, so of course he had to stop and pose for Mommy...

In other news, Chase and I did our third wedding last night! I have not really looked at many of the pictures, but, from what I see...Chase has become quite the photographer...

And now...we clean :).

Us? Blogging? No Way!

So...this is weird. I haven't blogged in a really long time. In fact, I probably shouldn't be doing this tonight -- it's past my bedtime! In all reality, like the Trace Adkins song, I know that someday, I'm going to miss this...

"You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this"

Today, I don't know that I will ever miss it! It seems as if everything has come so quickly lately. I just want life to slow down for a few moments and let us enjoy the little things, instead of planning and preparing for the big things!

We've been in our new house for almost three weeks now! It's coming together quite nicely, and we're pretty happy with our first home. I miss my mom's cooking though!!!! We had pizza tonight...(again...about the 8th time since we moved in...)

We (and by we, I mean I...) did the unthinkable and got a puppy four days after moving in! Miley is adorable, very well behaved, and a welcome addition to our family...however...she is also a 10 week old Labrador puppy who enjoys chewing, needs to go to the bathroom approximately every 12 minutes, and likes to climb on the tables...In other words, she needs constant supervision and I'm reminded of why we decided to wait a few more years to try for another baby! Maybe by then our family will seem more settled...probably not! So, you can stop asking when we're having another one. We're. Not. For. A. Long. Time.

Jetta is Jetta. A slight annoyance at times, but for the most part, independent and lazy -- sleeping the days away on the couch or Mom and Dad's bed, and trying desperately to avoid his new little sister! If the door opens though, he is there, tennis ball in mouth, ready to go!

Hunter is a crazy kid. Every day he reminds me more and more of what Janet tells me Chase was like. Crazy! He wants to climb tables, sit IN the fireplace, and generally get into the 3 things he's not allowed to (kitchen cabinet, dog food, bathroom.) Anything else, is fair game, but that's not what he wants! He is a regular Houdini, constantly working on how to escape from his high chair or car seat. I'm rather surprised he has not tried to climb out of his crib, but he generally loves going to sleep! It's amazing how much he understands us, although he's not ready to communicate back in any logical sense. Screaming and pointing has gotten him what he has wanted thus far in life, so why change what's obviously not broken!

The wedding plans are underway. I think that since now we have a place, and a date, and those two important things are out of the way, I can relax. The wedding website is fun, and not so much stress, so I won't bother thinking about the hundreds of other details weddings consist of. Instead, I'll enjoy my summer of weddings...I think by the time winter rolls around we will be 10 weddings or something ridiculous like that . I'll worry about ours later! Except the dress...I could handle shopping now :).

My days sometimes seem long as a stay-at-home Mom and I sometimes wonder what going back to work would be like....what dropping Hunter off at day care and putting the puppies in their kennels for 8 hour shifts and enjoying some adult conversation and a more important task then cleaning puppy pee off the hardwoods...Then I look Hunter...and Jetta...and Miley...my three babies and I know I'm right where I'm suppose to be...sippy cup in hand, poop bag in the other, with frazzled hair and an even more frazzled mind. Life is good. It'd be better if Mom brought us dinner *hint hint* but it's good right now!

Well then. I suppose that is a good start to this blog. A simple update should keep you all satisfied for awhile!
